XXV World Congress of Logotherapy — Chicago

The twenty-fifth, jubilee World Congress of Logotherapy brought practitioners, educators, researchers and students from around the world to Chicago around a single question: how far Viktor Frankl's work still holds today. Four days of plenary lectures, workshops, research presentations and conversations on how meaning, responsibility, freedom and hope enter clinical practice, education, healthcare and everyday life.

The strongest experience of the congress was meeting Viktor Frankl's grandchildren — Katharina Vesely Ratheiser and her brother Alexander Vesely Frankl. They shared part of the family history, its traditions and memories, with a sincerity, humility and humanity that moved the whole room.

Katja spoke of her life with her grandparents, Elly and Viktor Frankl, and took those present through the family apartment, which is today the Viktor Frankl Museum. Alexander closed by saying that, like his grandfather, he tries to live logotherapy rather than only to teach it.

Participant: Dr Kameliya Slavcheva
